Sweet Christine and Adrienne sent the most generous, thoughtful and gorgeously wrapped care package for the entire Patton Clan (although I'm fairly certain Julia thought e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g was for her...specifically the only-when-open beer and only-when-lit candle).
Simon's sister (and my sister-in-law, Julia's aunt and Godmother) Mary came for the nicest, quickest visit over the weekend. She brought the most adorable gifts for the kiddos (puffy vest and tutu-Julia models both above), took Julia on the longest walk while I selfishly slept in, braved some errands with me and both kids and even valiantly stuck by my side in Trader Joe's even after I knocked and spilled a bottle of red wine e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.
My mom (Simon's mother-in-law, Julia's grandma and Sebastian's grandma) sadly returned to her native land of New Mexico over the weekend but not before she shined both bathrooms to sparkly perfection and stocked our refrigerator with fortifying food. She spoiled Julia with special attention, Sebastian with lots of new clothes, took Julia and Lucy on multiple walks and made a multitude of perfect swaddling blankets for our little prince. We'll see how we fare without her today. I'm only a little bit fearful of failure.
A hearty round of e-applause for all, please.
Many, many, many thanks.
We are a spoiled lot.
Happy Tuesday Morning.
