As you know, in my line of work, I generally need to be rocking power suits, heels, and crisp conservative button-ups, but occasionally I like to tone it down to the business casual level. I saw this beautiful blazer at Target recently and realllllllllly wanted to get it but exercised my truly weak self control and didn't bite the blazing bait. Of course, I found a less cute but with Target tags still attached grey blazer at Goodwill for a fraction of the prettier blazer's price. I tried dying it blue but I think the material is SO synthetic that it simply will not take to dye. Oh -- are you still reading? I'm sorry who cares if I tried dying the grey a dark blue 4 times only to admit defeat and curse the Google, the dye, my stained hands, and anything else with ears within earshot? not you.
Anyway ... I sewed a lining (leftover from a nursing cover - so sexy) into the sleeves, ironed it for about 8 minutes which is 8 minutes longer than I've ever ironed anything else in my life ... and put it on.

The perfect diaper changing, dinner making, formula scooping, blankie laundering, baby whispering outfit.
Jusssst perfect.
And now if you'll kindly excuse me I have an important meeting with a Mr. Cost Co to be followed by a hot dog and diet soda power lunch at the chic eatery "Snack Bar" -- I'm sure you know it well.

Go on with your bad self! I know the place well. Have your people call my people and we'll do lunch. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so great! What a good find!
ReplyDeleteSo much envy. That's a really cute look. I can't pull off suit jackets and blazers. I always just feel like I'm playing dress up when I wear them.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have a blazer from Target as well and I put it on and pretend I'm all dressed up while I nurse and play with finger puppets for the 50th time during a day.
ReplyDeleteWork.it. Power hot dogs never looked so good.
ReplyDeleteHow do you manage to be all put together and get a photo of yourself?! Love it! Where are the pants from?
ReplyDeletePretty sure my 8 week old is super impressed by how I squeezed my post baby self into my designer jeans for such fancy events as diaper changing and bottle feedings. Scratch that, he is probably wondering why I'm not wearing a blazer!
ReplyDeleteLove this look! You are awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove it. And two fashion posts in one week? I've died and gone to heaven.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE blazers. I wear them all the time. The main reason I love them? Pockets. You can't actually put anything in your pants pockets. But in a blazer, you can put stuff in your pockets and they don't fall out. Also, you are the project MASTER this week.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing how you know just what little touches it needs to be awesome... and I love you talk about sewing in a liner as if it's nothing... oh ya, nothing, no trouble at all!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous as ever Miss Grace, good luck with the Costco trip.
Really love the outfit. Your pants are perfect - would love to know where they're from.
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie! Banana Republic trouser jeans
DeleteSo cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou are very stinking cute. In a good-smelling way.
ReplyDeleteAaaaand another Camp Patton party I'm late to today. What the heck is wrong with me? Usually all up on your blog like white on rice. No, not creepy. Really.
ReplyDeleteWhen the -ahem- uterine occupier vacates the premises, you need to come Goodwill shop for me, since the last thing I bought at Goodwill was a puke green dress of obscene shortness with a penguin pattern on it.
how are you so pretty all the time?? freals.
ReplyDeleteway to go. gorgeous locks. love the hotdog stop at costco/sams/lowes.
ReplyDeleteSee this is why you need to do more outfit posts. Finally someone who doesn't have links to $500 dresses and looks amazing doing so :) I have yet to brave a blazer..
ReplyDeleteHa! You're so clever! And hilarious. But more so clever. =) And you look beautiful!
