Oh ... obviously we're big fans of big fat chunky monkey babies around here but if someone were to invent a newborn growth stunting machine .... I'd be tempted to keep the celery stalk legs, slit eyes, and pterodactyl squawks around for a little while longer.
Theo will be two months on February 30th and he has very few tricks to show for it. He smiles rarely, cries sometimes, and flails his t-rex arms about always.
If I had a penny for every time someone responded, "like the chipmunk?" upon hearing his name he would have enough lettuce to purchase his mom a tube of dollar store lipstick.
Happy 1/6 of a year, Chippy.

When we named our daughter Olive, everyone said "like Olive Oyl!" and because her sisters name is Hazel, "oh, you have a green theme". I didn't love it. Hopefully the chipmunk comments go away soon.

ReplyDeleteJulio and Chippy have opposite face shapes (obviously his being yours and hers being that of Simone) but the mouths they are the same. Sibling cuteness overload.
Oh how I wish you could toss him on a plane and fly him over to me. There is a dearth of newborns in my general vicinity and I'm dying to squeeze him!

ReplyDeleteSeriously, I LOVE him!! And I could also go for a growth stunting machine for Lucy and a some sort of time travel machine that could bring Naomi and Bernadette back to their cute little newborn ages. Toddlers drive me positively crazy.

ReplyDeleteHehe I get a kick out of the squawks, although ours resemble Velociraptor squawks, but only Elizabeth's these days. At least we always know when it's time to run because the T-rex is coming!

His smile is adorable, if infrequent. Just makes the rare occasion more special, right?

ReplyDeleteHe is SOOOOOO cute, and I TOTALLY agree with you on the growing up part. They grow up too fast. We also loved babies. I have only recently started to embrace the fact that our youngest is 7 SEVEN years old. It's very fun, but those baby stages are just so wonderful.....which is why I'm glad you are still on the internet, still posting. You obviously love them as much as I did, and it's so fun to re-live those VERY BUSY years with you, and rejoice in seeing another mama enjoy being a mom! Keep up the GREAT work!
