I'm hitting a real fashion high note. I don't even remember putting this running shoe (no run involved - ever) + moose pajama pant ensemble on but we're out of plastic grocery sacks (because it's Costco or nothing these days) that house our dirtiest diapers so I've been making a lot of runs out to the big trashcan today. Every time I pop outside in my meese with a diaper in hand I always always run into our cute and fashionable female neighbor and her cute little dog. Always.
Sebastian got into the brand new bag of chocolate chips directly after I bathed him and put on a fresh set of clothing (pajamas) that should've lasted him at least 36ish hours.
Julia is on a rampage to find a blue crayon. A very loud rampage. She needs a diaper change but I'm trying really hard to avoid anymore run-ins with the neighbor for tonight at least.
And Theo is cuddling with a Christmas blanket that until about 7 minutes ago I'm 100% certain was in the dirtiest "really should be washed today" laundry pile.
Simon left for work about an hour ago and is in a delivery but I'm hoping we can break up the monotony of his lazy night with a quick visit because a change of pants, a change of scenery, and a fresh breath of hospital cafeteria is sounding really, really nice right now.
Update: Julia reports that Sebastian is in "big trubbo" and she is covered head to toe in what appears to be ... baking soda?
Come onnnnnn cafeteria.
Update on the update: It was actually cornstarch c/o these.
How far is the hospital? Nice if it's close by... At least you get to pop over quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteHang in there!
ReplyDeleteA.W.E.S.O.M.E : )
ReplyDeleteTheo is such a punk... rocking the mohawk already!
ReplyDeleteAww! Look at Theo's hair! He's so adorable. How on earth do you make such cute kids? I'm afraid to try because there's no way mine will be as cute, and then every day I'll look at them and think, "Hm. You're no Julia/Bash/Theo."
ReplyDeleteBig Trubbo! Ha!
ReplyDeletehaha! Moose? I thought they were witch pants. both are equally awesome :)
ReplyDeleteBig trouble indeed!! I am on day two of single parenthood/caregiving while the hubster is in Miami drinking mojitos and eating Cuban food. He comes home Friday. I may not have any brain activity left by then, but who knows. I have been peed on, squawked at while giving the princess a bath, and had a lovely sneeze of spinach and pasta at dinner time. I want to go to the cafeteria too. Can I come with you?? LOL!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love when your kids make a mess and then drop as many brooms, dustpans, brushes and rags onto it as they can lay their paws on, as if that's going to make it better? Cracks me up every time.
ReplyDeleteYour funny :). Love that you notice hour fashionable neighbor.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a target trip is in order -Obv to get more bags and def for at least 30 min of alone time when Simon comes home...
ReplyDeleteYou are a great mom. I'm sure your neighbor is telling her bf/hubs/whatever that she is impressed with how you do it all!
out of grocery sacks? too bad I'm not your neighbor or you could borrow 100 of the 10,000 I am hoarding under my kitchen sink. My husband made fun of me reeeeally bad for it the other day but obviously, as you've demonstrated, I can't go running out of those things with so many dirty diapers flying around this place.
ReplyDeleteI always seem to run into a fashionable neighbor when I run out to the dumpster with socks and flip flops (hard to do, but SOOOO much better than taking off your socks in the winter). It's the worst!
ReplyDeleteYou make -what is almost certainly exhausting and undoubtedly repetitious- light hearted and humorous (at least to read). Lord knows I was rocking the same nursing bra/pjs for waaayyyy too long yesterday...no one ever tells you how essential wine is to motherhood. Someone should.
ReplyDeleteThat Sebastian is in big trubbo! You guys need to invest in some new cabinet locks - although he strikes me as the kind of kid that would find the hedge trimmers and lop them right off!
ReplyDeleteHope you made it to the hospital for a bit of a break.
what a bunch of cutie pies! I laughed out loud about getting into the bag of chocolate chips because I did that once when I was little, so says my mom.
ReplyDeleteplease don't ever stop writing this blog it seriously is one of my favorites things about my morning! :)
ReplyDeletePax,
blair
That's awesome that you get to go visit Simon a lot! Those visits make the days go by soooo much faster. When Ben was on trauma I'm sure they got sick of me stopping by.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I suffer from the same fashion curse when it comes to my neighbors. They only catch me when I'm in my PJ's and fur covered slippers driving to the mailbox because I'm too lazy to walk in the cold.
