Mmm ... as Julia would say, "I not do it."
We made the idiotic mistake of taking the kids to a Saturday night Mass (an hour long! with music! no cry room!) instead of hitting up our comfort zone by way of the 30 minute hospital Mass because we are gluttons for fun and d-u-m-b. Sebastian escaped from the pew and ran away as fast as his little legs would carry him ... laughing all the way. Julia was her usual fickle self (kneeler seat to my lap to Simon's lap to Sebastian's face to kneeler seat to my lap to Simon's lap to Sebastian's face ... ) and Theo was unengaged but very good.
I also made the idiotic mistake of wearing my new ankle hooves with these ancient business casual pants. My other option was to throw on some leggings with one of favorite maternity tunics but we all know pride goeth before the sensible solution so referee meets administrative assistant it was.
What I can glean from all of my reliable social media sources: Beyonce was wearing her church clothes, the 49ers are killing it, and the lights are shining bright. I love the internet because it doesn't let me miss a thing.
the fundown:
shirt: Goodwill (altered)
pants: (cringe) Express
hooves: Forever XXI
scarf: Target via Christmas present from Simon's stylin' mom
the kids Mass behavior:
Julia: B-
Bash: C
Theo: A+
Linking up with the ladies over at Fine Linen and Purple and you should do the same.
You look SO pretty! And skinny!! How do you do it? I love your blog :).
ReplyDeleteThis might be my fave outfit of yours ever. Loves.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, you pretty much captured the night correctly.
The red lipstick is way way way cute on you...love. You look absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeletePretty mamma
ReplyDeleteI want that scarf!! But i'd probably never remember to wear it. Our church is three hours long and some weeks I'm just like, "Pretty sure I heard NOTHING today. Awesome." Haha
ReplyDeleteIm digging the ref meets admin assistant.....the scarf is amazing!
ReplyDeletei'm so jealous of your scarf, i saw it at target a few weeks ago and thought 'ehhh i'll pick one up next time i'm here..." too bad they SOLD OUT! she who hesitates.. love the red lipstick too!
ReplyDeleteYou are REALLY smiling. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hate you and your long thin legs. Okay, not really. You look fab as usual, referee stripes or not.
ReplyDeleteLike the pattern missing, and yes, Superbowl was quite entertaining this year!
ReplyDeleteYou always crack me up with the Mass play-by-play. I love it. At least you didn't have to go to the ER...but then hubby is a doctor so that probably would be fun...LOL!...who knows. ANyway, I love the top and scarf. the ply with stripes and the bold graphic really work. As for the Admin Asst look, I failed shorthand in high school so what do I know. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!!
Love that scarf / shirt combo, Grace!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I love that scarf.
ReplyDeleteI love you but I hate you but I love you but I hate you.
ReplyDeleteYou look too good for the stage in life you're at.
:)
I have to agree with colleen on this one. Seriously--do I love you or hate you? You look really great for just having a baby. congrats to you :)
DeleteThat first picture of you is SO pretty. New profile pic?
ReplyDeleteLOVE that scarf! So stylish.
Love the outfit! And you didn't just have a baby!! You look great!
ReplyDeletedude you just had a baby like 5 seconds ago and look at you! You don't even have a stomach! I'm still working on flattening mine 13 years later! haha. Love the scarf, the stripes and your pretty smile!
ReplyDeleteYou are looking fabulous! I love that scarf! (and is that some lip stain on your lips???) And yes, I was shocked at how much Beyonce was wearing for her half-time show. I mean, it's the Superbowl - live a little, girl.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is wonderful and your lipstick is HOT!
ReplyDeleteI like your pants. Don't cringe! The scarf is definitely awesome, though. You look great!
ReplyDeleteYou all live in St. Louis, right? I can't believe how much snow you got Saturday night! We live in Columbia and didn't even get a single flake, just a very light and hardly noticeable sprinkle!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo. Love the pattern mix. Good job and good lip stain.
ReplyDeleteBlack, white and red. My fav.
ReplyDeleteYou look great, mama! Wait, did you just have a baby?? I wouldn't go around spreading that news to just anyone...
It looks like everyone agrees, the lipstick is perfect, and LOVE your whole outfit! You are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWIWS: Beyonce Edition
ReplyDeleteThis thought is cracking me up way more than it probably should.
I love this combo - the scarf kills it (in a good way!)!
ReplyDeleteDon't you worry, I bet every single one of us shamelessly owns a pair of express "work pants" that we wear to mass with all sorts of tops. I commend you for pairing yours much more cleverly than I ever do! Ok, in case, I'm wrong about the pant popularity, I feel the need to defend myself by explaing I'm really tall and that's pretty much a legit reason since they're the only acceptably priced dress pant in "long" for frequently pregnant and not pregnant and post-pregnant mothers requiring a wardrobe spanning 6 differnt clothing sizes.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I crack up every post!
You look great! I cannot believe you had a baby recently. Btw I am loving the red lipstick, you look awesome! :)
