Linking up with Jen over at Conversion Diary for 7 Quick Takes Friday.
1. I should be packing or cleaning or folding laundry and not typing this post. Rebel forever.
2. We're tagging along with Simon to a work thing this weekend and I got it in my head that I wanted to bring a certain pair of shoes (stupid) but I can only find one. I blame Sebastian 100% because he is obsessed with shoes and when I forget to lock the door to his room where I keep my shoes he goes crazy and organizes them and throws them down vents and puts the on and loses them. I should just get over it because who realllllly cares.
I do. I really, really do.
3. More Sebastian. The other day I suspected that he needed a diaper change to I did the whole peek in the back fully expecting a bomb and when I let him go (bombless - a most pleasant surprise) he marched right behind me, pulled down my running shorts and checked my bomb status. That was a lot funnier at the time and this is probably some bizarre sign that I should start potty training him too. A sign that I will be ignoring real hard.
3. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone that participated in the Sunday Best linkup this past Sunday. It was fun and I hope you come back again. I'll miss you otherwise.
4. The Bachelorette. You know I love everything about this quality program but this season is off to a terrible start. Please redeem yourself, season! And if they pick the next Bachelor out of this crop of horrors I will be tempted for the first time ever ever EVER to not watch next season. Bring back Roberto ... or even someone not that great like Arie (although apparently he is dating Courtney the Bewitch).
5. I love responding to comments via email and maybe Google is falling apart but I've noticed a lot of people's emails aren't attached to their comments anymore? (Well I noticed Cari and Jenny specifically ... and maybe they'd rather not correspond with me but ... I wannna). Janssen has a crystal clear tutorial on how to attach your comment name to your email .... the choice is yours but I'm voting a big fat not NAY.
6. One day left to enter the NeriumAD giveaway .... get after it.
7. I am a big lover of routines and schedules and regimented and predictable. To a big fault. I'm a fun one. Simon is on labor and delivery right now and gets home circa 615-630ish at night which is so much better than the last rotation and the upcoming rotation so we've been eating really fast and then loading up and walking to the the neighborhood elementary school playground. There's a really nice park with a playground near our house but it is TEAMING with choppers and is just too big and too much for our kids. So -- no one is ever at the elementary school playground. Simon and I can talk about our days and not exchange, "where's Sebastian ... go get him before that anxious mom picks him up and starts frantically looking for his parents that are sitting six feet away" every four seconds.
So ... in case you wondered what we do at night. This is it for the next 2 weeks.
Okay ... all she procrastinated.
Hasta manana.
Go see Jen for more.
Per usual, totally flattered to be linked to in your post. Seriously, am embarrassing myself with my mega-grin over here.
ReplyDelete#3: Oh. my. I just about died laughing.
ReplyDeletedid julia take a makeup brush to the park? what a diva. i love her.
ReplyDeleteI looooove that she took a makeup brush to the park. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteA girl never knows when she will need some shine control ;)
Delete#3 is HILARIOUS!!! My daughter started doing something similar when we are changing into our bathing suits for the pool and I've just helped her with hers and have to get mine on or off...
ReplyDeleteBtw...I know what you mean about choppers central. Some playgrounds around here definitely seem more prone to that than others! (If you're referring to the playground you posted pictures of a while back I think I know which one you mean and that is the WORST...you can't help but being a helicopter parent at that one!) Thankfully, I'm too pregnant to care about being judged as a non-chopper at this point ;-) Plus, my girl is so overly cautious that the only way to get her to actually play at the playground is to sit waaaaay back and let her do her thing!
What? My email's not attached anymore? What the what?
ReplyDeleteI love the pics of your kids. So funny and cute. I never got one of those jogging strollers and I guess I'm glad at this point. I do have a joovy stand and sit double...LOVE. But now the baby thinks he's big enough to be on the stand/sit part and I'm like -- umm, no!
ReplyDeleteTheo is the cutest baby EVER!!! I laughed out loud with the diaper story, too funny! Also I loved the fact that Julia carried a makeup brush together with her Dora cup! And Sebastian's dirty empty chair: Priceless! :)
ReplyDeleteSO funny with the diaper bomb checking! And I love little J's outfit and pigtails! So cute!
ReplyDelete#3, Grace!!! This is very, very funny! My younger brothers have said some hilarious things to my mum along similar lines, but I'll spare her the blushes and not post it here.. ;)
ReplyDeleteTen points for your outfit, I lurrrrvve the stripes.

I had "stained" monthly underwear on and was laying on the bed when Hannabert looked at me and said "you pooped."
ReplyDeleteYour kids make me laugh! We didn't get a triple but yours makes me want one! Have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the make up brush left in Julia's stroller seat! Hope you guys have a fun, not too stressful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... so if I sign in to leave a comment using my gmail login, doesn't that automatically mean my email address is linked? Or no? It would totally make my week if I ever got an email from you.
ReplyDeletePrecious playground adventures!
ReplyDeleteAfter dinner walks and trips to the playground are the best!
ReplyDeleteLove the update! Miss Julia is quite the fashionista and always prepared with her makeup brush for a touch-up. A girl has to start sometime why not now.
ReplyDeleteTheo and Sebastian just make me smile...all the time. Happy Weekend!!
Those pigtails are too precious!
ReplyDeleteThe Bachelorette is almost unwatchable this season. I say almost because, of course, I'll still watch. But, I almost gave up last week when they closed out the group date by "rapping" Right Reasons. The worst. My only hope is that this is the season where The Bachelorette picks no one or leaves with Chris Harrison or something equally as exciting. Thank goodness for Jones and her recaps or I'd be out for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat photo of Theo is awesome! #3 cracked me up. And I'm glad he didn't find anything. :)
ReplyDeleteI so miss after-dinner walks. My 14 year old just won't fit in the stroller anymore.
So I've just discovered your blog and I'm loving it. You're a real person and that's refreshing. I about fell outta bed when I read this post though. Laugh OutLoud! You actually mentioned me on your blog hahaha
ReplyDeleteSee?""... the choice is yours but I'm voting a big fat not NAY.
Mea culpa, i don't know how I went incog...but it's over now.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Julia's romper? Call me, girl. Imma take you shopping when we're home in the USofA next week, because I need some help.
Bash is hilarious!! That may be my favorite thing he's done yet! And I love that Julia had to bring a makeup brush to the park. Hope you have a good weekend and lots of park days coming up!
ReplyDeleteI nixed my gmail....I was only using it for my google reader...take that Google!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the park pics!!
Despite your shoe shortages, I love that Theo is wearing some! Precious!
ReplyDeleteAwesome posts and photos as per usual:) Love how witty and honest you are:)
ReplyDelete3. My two year old likes to go around and smell our bottoms to report if someone needs a diaper change or not. My fear is that one day she will do it to a guest in our house and then proceed to tell them they have poop and need to change their diaper.
