The kids are fascinated with the nativity scene in the hospital lobby. Sebastian assumes the "sheeps" are for riding and that every single statue wants a face grab complete with a kiss on the lips.
But today something clicked and all of my suspicions that I've been doing pretty much everything in the old parenting books right, righter, and rightest were confirmed when Julia, after studying the wise men for a long time, confidently stated, "oh! the mans are bringing bottles of formula for baby Jesus to Aunt Mary."
Yep.

Yep.
Well, that'd be practical!

Well with so many people named Mary, it's bound to be confusing for the little ones! :)
ReplyDeleteThis just made my day. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Love it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I think Miriam has those same boots or similar ones. That's all she wears. Mostly b/c her alternative would be going barefoot in 20 degree weather.
ReplyDeletehahaha! love it!

ReplyDeleteWell I mean. Makes total sense right? She's a smart one. And VERY responsible.
ReplyDeleteThey are sending them to me??? Oh wait...the "other" Mary...hee, hee, hee...
ReplyDeleteHey, she knows formula is valuable!! What baby need frankincense? Makes no sense. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice! My 3 yr old is currently singing 'Joy to the world The Lord is come, let earth receive her king, let every heart prepare Him doom...'
ReplyDeleteWell I'm sure Aunt Mary would be very appreciative all the same. :-)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, she is a hoot! Just love her little brain and the things she says :)
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteWell, Aunt Mary is the best! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, formula is like liquid gold, so...
ReplyDeleteI just love your kids and their reactions to that nativity. So freaking funny.
LOVE IT! Thanks for giving me my first real smile of an already craptastic day!!
ReplyDeletehahaha that is hilarious. Your Julia quotes always makes me laugh. Tell her thank you for bringing me a smile today!
ReplyDeletePerfect! And that's what she knows Mommies do for their babies to take care of them.
ReplyDeleteI love this. You kids are adorable.
ReplyDelete<3 jeni
Oh my gosh!!! You are doing everything right! That is the best ever! lol
ReplyDeleteI love it! Let's call that a parenting win! Good job mama!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture! I love that your kids fit right in to the scene.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it, they were WISE men right? They brought practical expensive gifts instead of frivolous expensive gifts. Might I be a heretic and suggest some other less practical man edited that part of the story to give it more pizzaz? Figures. Sounds like she's pretty astute!
ReplyDeleteI thought Sebastian was a part of the Nativity scene! He's the right height!
ReplyDeleteAlso, how does Aunt Mary feel about being compared to the Blessed Mother? I would feel pretty cool!
I laughed so hard because I'm pretty sure my kids have said this too and it always makes me feel like a real winner!
ReplyDelete"The mans"! I just discovered the other day that my son thinks they are called "the magile"...
ReplyDeleteEllen calls a crucifix a crossy-feets. Also, I will never be able to get that image of J playing ring-around-the-rosie with the broken crucifix out of my head. hilarious.
