aaaaaaaaaaaand she's off.
talking all about her pregnancy.
somebody stop her.

Well, it's worse than that. I'm actually going to focus on the stomach flu during pregnancy. Feel loved and blessed. I had it pretty bad at 36 weeks with Theo but had it really really bad this time around at 22 weeks and flew my baby white flag high and proud and went into the hospital for fluids after the 5th sip of water over the course of 8 hours just would not stay put. Of course you know me well enough to know that I had a straight up novel typed out that gave Tolstoy a run for his brevity but deleted because .... I don't hate you. Let's just sum up that distant memory of a Sunday to say  ...

God Bless Zofran.
God Bless Simon who got sick on the way to pick me up from the hospital ... with the kids in the car.
God Bless Sebastian's shoddy memory for FINALLY forgetting his new favorite, "what the fack?!" parroted phrase after being in said car with sick Simon who went through the slowest pharmacy drive-thru line known to all of mankind to pick up some magical dissolving Zofran.
And God Bless the nurse on duty that asked Simon if I was going to blog about my brush with the plague because .... YEP.

The end.

Of those paragraphs.

Remember Kris? She's getting ready to temporarily close her shop chock full of gorgeous jewelry as she gets ready to have her second lady baby but kindly let me know that she's offering free shipping with the code: FREESH ... her stuff is the bomb and you really can't beat her prices and I want it all. Maybe I'll chat with Simon about the concept of a "push present" .... if you hear him laugh all the way around the world ... you'll know why.

Okay. Back to me me me me my my my my pregnancy. I thought I'd turned a corner around 20 weeks with the wretched morning sickness but I really and truly turned a corner after my brush with the plague a couple weeks ago. I'm finally feeling that oh so fleeting, "burst of energy" and still feeling large but I know the largest is yet to come so I'm just enjoying the fact that the kids seem to think the baby is housed in the more northern chestal regions of my thorax and I have to be verrrrrry careful when to ask Sebastian about the baby because he'll pull the collar of my shirt down to my "belly butt" in about .000004 seconds flat and proudly show off his erroneous geographical smarts.

I have a follow-up ultrasound tomorrow because of a "placental lake" .... hopefully it's resolved itself but from my not so extensive Googling and extensive reassurance a la Simon ... I don't think it's a huge deal. Or even a big deal. The baby was in the 62nd percentile (which, according to Simon, is "huge") at 20 weeks so .... I don't think we're having annnnny issues with growth like we thought we did with Theo (and he was fine too).

Is this boring you? I thought so. I've been trying to type this post all week and now all of a sudden I'm 24 weeks along (which is not 6 months pregnant - does that drive anyone else insane?) so there's probably a reason I keep losing interest. Sniggedy snore.

Let's talk about my dress. If you're in the market for a maternity dress that is not going to make you feel like a slooze in the length department, is stretchy but not clingy, and is light enough to wear in the summer and awesome for layering in the winter .... get all up on this one from PinkBlush Maternity. They even have a tunic version and you know how I feel about tunics. And really - all of their stuff is great without breaking the bank and staying right on trend. A word to the pregs - if you're in between sizes I would size UP ... their stuff fits a little on the small side. But just a little so don't go crazy with the overestimations.

Want to win a $25 credit to PinkBlush? You should. Get down on it .... via the old Rafflecopter. Best of luck.

AND - cheaters never prosper. I'll find you, fear not.

  2. So sorry you got the horrible stomach bug! And glad you're feeling better. And you look adorable.

  3. I am so sorry you went through the flu. I cannot even imagine. I am 21 weeks with #4 as well and dying for new maternity clothes. Thanks!

  4. In LOVE with that dress! You look adorable, per usual. :)

  5. I'm so sorry morning sickness hung in there so long and SO SORRY about the flu. Gross gross gross. But you look adorable. Like honestly so cute. Has Simon warmed up to that hat? And the 4 weeks does not equal a month issue. OMG! It drives me NUTS. I remember one seemingly intelligent person soapboxing on facebook about how pregnancy actually last 10 months because 40 weeks blah blah and I wanted to correct her very meanly but then I didn't because she was uber pregnant and I'm only mean on the inside...and I'm trying to work on that, but whatever. Point is. YES. Annoying.

  7. I love your hat! I can't see why anyone would want you to take it off!

  8. I cannot imagine having a stomach flu while pregnant. Throwing up is not my forte. I've done it 3 times in the past... 3 years? Pregnancy included (or excluded because it doesn't happen, just a whole lot of nausea) and 2 of those 3 times were in labor sooo doesn't count? ANYWAY. I like the blue and white striped tunic. I'm seriously lacking in the cold weather maternity clothes department so anything long sleeve is a plus!

  9. You look ADORBS. Sorry you all got sick, hope the plague is gone!

And even though I'm not preg (yet....hoping to convince my hubs to go for #3 this summer), I would pick a maxi dress that I can rock whether I'm gestating or not! Everything on that site is super cute and I want it all. Thank you.

  12. Aww, the flu is the worst!

I'm loving the aqua lace maternity dress, although I'd probably get more wear out of something not-lace. :)

  13. I quite enjoy the pregnancy updates so don't apologize for sharing! Sounds like you had a miserable time there - and Simon too. Hope that's past. As a testament to your marketing savvy, I actually followed the link to Pink Blush Maternity even thought I'm single, celibate and sterile and not about to be wearing maternity clothes. I can't buy for my daughter-in-law (who isn't pregnant and doesn't want to be until she has her Masters) because she hates my taste in clothes. Anyways... cute stuff.

  14. I like the Mocha tie dress. So pretty! But I'd really pass on the gift certificate to my sis who is Oregon with number 9!

  18. Okay, seriously, I'm so glad the 24 weeks = 6 months pregnant thing annoys someone else :) I had a FB friend post a belly pic at 36 weeks and in parentheses she put "9 months." Ummmm, no you cannot divide 36 by 4 and say you're 9 months pregnant. Ahhhhh. (Yes, it's a pet peeve of mine)

    ReplyDelete
  19. UGH the counting thing between weeks/months drives me BONKERS when it comes to pregnancy. I'm only on my first wee one so I'm sure I'll get more used to it but I have a feeling it'll still bug me. Also, the dress is fab and I'm now also going to tell my husband about the concept of push presents...teehee.

  20. I like the Burgundy Button Sash Maternity Dress. And I hope you all are better now!

  25. You look great, loved that hat in the babble post!! You do not look 24 weeks pregnant in the slightest. And the stomach flu while pregnant is like death. I had it during my last pregnancy at about 28 weeks and was pretty positive that was just going to throw up the baby the next time I hugged the toilet. Glad to hear you are feeling better!

    ReplyDelete

  44. Ughhhh-so sorry to hear you guys have been so sick! You look great though! I've pretty much sworn off shopping for maternity wears this time around because at 32 weeks I'm already over it and just want some real clothes (gonna be a loooong 8ish weeks haha) but I think I will make an exception and see if I can find something that doesn't make me look like teen mom. Seriously-why are all the dresses so short!?
On another note-did you get your Juan pablo fix yet???

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm praying to get pregnant this cycle and would love one of the dresses or skirts for weddings this summer.

And yay for not being sick anymore! Zofran is truly sent from above.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I like their tops and cardigans as well as their belted maternity dress! Super cute.

    ReplyDelete
  51. When I'm pregnant I attempt to wear as many dresses as possible since I always find myself never wearing dresses once I have a newborn. Loving the Button Sash dress you're sporting actually BUT I think I'd personally go for Burgundy or Brown. =)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Grace! I have many things to say. First, um, you are way cuter in that dress than the model on their website. Also, oh my gosh, I am so sorry about your stomach virus! Throwing up that much is crazy scary, and I am so glad you went to the hospital. I am 12 weeks with my first (yayyyy!!) and I am still waiting for the morning sickness (hahahaha, all day sickness) to pass and popping Zofrans like candy. You can rest assured that if that stomach virus thing happened to me, I would have alerted the media and composed a tragic opera about it immediately. So basically, what I'm saying is that you're the pregnant lady's hero!

    ReplyDelete
  53. WOOHOO! I am pregnant with #3, and hating maternity clothes. A little nudge in the cute direction would be fab!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ugh I had the stomach flu at 28 weeks last year and was sure I was dying. My baby boy reassured me of his good health by kicking me as usual, though. Thanks kid. Glad you're feeling better!

  55. Having a bug while preggo is the WORST. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that one :(. So I'm not currently pregnant but you never know... so I'm gonna go ahead and enter this here giveaway. I'm loving the fuchsia banded yoga pants. Baby bellies and yoga pants just go so nicely together...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Geez, I'm already placing an order ... Teal maxi skirt to get me through the spring, and all of the shirts look long enough to be tunics. I'm likin' this one: http://www.pinkblushmaternity.com/p-6876-navy-blue-beige-striped-34-sleeve-maternity-top.aspx

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oooh, you poor thing. I had the stomach flu the day after my due date with my first daughter, and around 26 weeks with my third. I had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night the second time for fluids and medicine. I'm so glad you're feeling better. And you look great!

    ReplyDelete

  62. I can't decide between the beige and the mint but I like the Floral Chiffon Maternity Dress. Although I always get dresses (including when not pregnant - gotta stock up on maternity wear, you know) so maybe a shirt would be more useful.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I had the stomach flu last week at 29 weeks, and I definitely could go without doing that again. Fortunately it was a Friday evening, so the husband was around to pick up toddler duty, and two hours in when I couldn't hold down fluid, got some Zofran called in. THANK GOODNESS FOR ZOFRAN! Anyway, love the tribal & geometric tees, but maybe I'd go for something more practical like a nursing dress since I'm almost-ish done with the pregnancy?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm in love with your dress! It's so versatile so I think I would definitely get a lot of use out of it!

    ReplyDelete
