Pinch Us

17 March 2014

We're not Irish.

I woke up feeling nostalgic. Or in the mood to dig through Facebook albums.

Have 54 seconds to murder? Great.

Let's go ...

Here we have St. Patrick's day a couple months after we started dating ...

Or I think it was more of a week. Simon came down for his spring break and we had a busy agenda of listening to live music, participating in a case race (my very first and very last), and taking metro photos with our posse.

And here we have St. Patrick's day 4.5 years after we got married ...

(this is a joke ... Simon just always says he is aging poorly and always looks haggard. I disagree.)

So, really? Nothing has changed.

But (of course!) we wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! I'll pour one out for you if you drink a few for me.

  1. I like the last picture the best :) I have many a picture like the first couple from my college days, and I hope to have one like the last one someday!

Also, if Simon looks haggard... then I hate to think what adjective would be used to describe me in my snow-day-glam-pajam look...

  4. I was laughing about the case race - because I actually had to click on the link and look it up. Because I'm thinking some sort of obstacle, actual RACE. But no. Showing my age. Back in the day, my game was quarters - *ahem*. And my funny story about relating those stories took place at our dinner table a few months ago as my husband and I were reminiscing about college days and the subject of quarters came up. And I was trying to explain the game to my two teenage sons. And they weren't completely understanding. Cut to 10 minutes later and dumb Mom has shot glasses and a quarter out on the table (no liquid in them), "demo-ing" how to play quarters. Face palm and Mom-fail for the win.

  7. Theo's expression is priceless!

Also, I'm pretty sure celebrating St. Patrick's Day in DC hasn't changed in the least since 2008, seeing as I basically took that same picture on the metro saturday night.

And, I'm right there with you. Power hour is now 7-8pm while getting the kids down for bed. Oddly enough, I still feel the same afterward...
